The day-long competition was open to full-time undergraduate students from Hong Kong. A total of eight universities participated with each participating team comprising of four students with a faculty member acting as a coach.

All cases used at the competition were unpublished business cases developed by the ACRC. For each round, the team had 2 hours to prepare a case which was then presented to a judging panel of senior executives from companies including McKinsey & Company, HSBC, Jones Lang LaSalle, Sun Hung Kai Properties and Shell. The presentation was followed by a ten minute Q&A session. The competition allowed judges to assess the students’ ability to identify and analyse complex key issues faced by companies in Asia and to devise feasible strategies in practical business settings.

The competition was a huge success with students impressing judges with their ability to solve complicated business challenges. In the final match of the day, the team from the University of Hong Kong faced the team from the Chinese University of Hong Kong for the Championship. The team from the University of Hong Kong prevailed to win highly coveted internships at McKinsey & Company and the Hongkong Shanghai Banking Corporation.
